Crossroads Care in Uttlesford

The Uttlesford scheme was officially launched on 2nd May 1986 at a meeting at the Friends Meeting House in Saffron Walden. Its launch followed four years of lobbying by a Steering Committee dedicated to bringing help to those with a caring role in Uttlesford. This primary objective has never changed as we continue to exist to relieve the stress of carers in the Uttlesford District.

The Crossroads Care office was located in Dunmow when it first began, however it moved to Hill Street, Saffron Walden in 1988. It then relocated to the Community Hospital on the 17th January 1990, where it remained until February 2011. It is now located at the Citizens Advice Bureau, Barnards Yard, Saffron Walden, Essex, CB11 4EB.

Our Day Care Centre opened on July 5th 2011 at 'New Life Christian Centre' on Shire Hill. Open all day Tuesdays (with hopes to expand the service over time)

The overall policy and strategic management of Crossroads Care Uttlesford is the responsibility of a Board of Trustees. The Board comprises volunteers, with a wide range of knowledge and skills. The current members of the Board of Trustees are published in our Annual Report.
